I hope you enjoyed the holidays and the new year is treating you well so far!

Happy New YearI’ve never been one to make New Year’s resolutions, and though I don’t do anything formally, I do set some intentions for living more healthfully in the new year. This year, for me one of those intentions is to find more time to meditate. Yep, even though I teach meditation classes, days come along that I don’t make time to sit on my cushion. But on those days I’m kind to myself and take at least a few deep, intentional, breaths and calm my mind.  And, I am content in knowing that for that day I’ve done the best I can.

Do you ever experience times where your inner critic just won’t leave you alone? Or times when you feel like you just can’t get that critical thought about someone else out of your mind? Would you like to learn and hone skills that will help you set all that aside?

I won’t guarantee results, but I can promise that if you invest in yourself by taking a compassion meditation course you’ll enjoy your time and learn something of value!

Do you sometimes know there are things you can do for yourself to lead a healthier happier life, but you don’t make yourself the priority? Maybe this year, right now, is that time to put you first. By building that strong foundation of kindness and compassion for yourself, you’ll find you have even more to give to others when they need it.

We’ll explore the following topics:

  • Meditation tips and techniques from traditional contemplative perspectives, as well as modern psychology and current scientific research
  • Developing kindness, acceptance, and compassion for yourself
  • Developing compassion for a loved one
  • Recognizing, accepting, and extending compassion to the broader community
  • Integrating all of the above into everyday life
  • A mudra meditation, and two qi gong series, all of which help to align internal energies and enhance vitality

I’d love to have you join an upcoming series! Below are the details:

  • Begins 2/8 running for 8 weeks, ending on 3/29
  • Sunday mornings 9:30-11:30 at 3 Oms Yoga, Bellingham, WA
  • Pricing on a sliding scale, see website for details
  • REGISTER HERE

I’d love to help you make this one of your intentions for great health in 2015!

Wishing you well, and I hope to see you soon!

PS…Students have said the following about the 8-week curriculum:

  • The 8-week CCT course provided me a clear and concise pathway to learn a practice that has been transformative in the way I relate to myself, friends, family and patients. I have been able to positively use the skills I’ve learned in every facet of my life.
  • I found that I really look forward to Thursday nights, it has been wonderful to know that each week I get to spend 2 hours with like minded people, sharing how we applied what we learned the week before in our daily lives.
  • Thank you again for a wonderful course! It helped deepen my understanding of meditation and compassion and I have already began to use some of the techniques presented in my personal practice and to enrich my work as a massage therapist. I was unsure at first how well the online format would work with meditation, but it was wonderful!
  • It was great to realize that people who are so different from me are so much like me.
  • This class was wonderful. Easy to access from anywhere. I was travelling at the time and as long as I got the time right (different time zone) it worked from near and far. And it was a very satisfying, touching, deepening and expanding experience. Amy is wonderful as a facilitator as well! Its well worth the little time it takes.
