“Have fun. Have fun. Have fun!”
It takes intention, motivation, and dedication to build and sustain a meditation practice. We are required to look at and embrace parts of ourselves that we might prefer to suppress, deny, or ignore. Sometimes it just seems like hard work to keep our minds from drifting off, to practice extending kindness to ourselves and others daily. It isn’t easy to practice patience, tolerance, understanding, and acceptance. But in the long run, cultivating that deeper relationship with yourself is worth the effort. Meditation can be fun, it isn’t always work.
In the midst of all that effort and work we need to remember one more thing… to have fun. Occasionally we get bogged down in the challenge of meditation rather than the fun, but remember to take some time every day to have fun, have fun, have fun.
So enjoy your meditation today. Then do something fun. =)
